Tea strainer capsule for stainless steel bottles - Always have delicious tea with you -

The custom of brewing tea from tea leaves in a teapot remains deeply rooted in our lives, but it is gradually fading. There are probably many homes that do not have a teapot. To enjoy delicious tea, the best way is to brew it in a teapot. However, it seems to be becoming unfamiliar with modern lifestyles.

So I decided to give form to an idea I had been mulling over for some time, wondering if I could offer a new way to enjoy tea leaves.

Our main business, online sales, has become a fiercely competitive market. We cannot survive by simply selling tea leaves cheaply on the Internet. We felt that we needed to come up with something unique that is unique to our company.

The idea is to create a capsule-shaped tea strainer that can be used to extract iced tea in a stainless steel bottle.

When we go out, we carry our vacuum insulated stainless steel bottles alongside our smartphones and wallets. We thought that if we could brew delicious tea from tea leaves in a stainless steel bottle, which many people carry around with them, the enjoyment of tea would spread even further.

People often say that tea bags are fine, but with tea bags you can't choose the tea leaves freely, and you have to pay tea bag processing fees and hand-packing fees, which are surprisingly expensive. Also, when packing tea bags with a tea bag processing machine, the tea leaves have to be cut into small pieces, which can ruin the good tea that you put your heart and soul into.

With this method, you will need to prepare a bottle and tea strainer capsules at first, but once you have them, you can enjoy tea at a low cost. For example, even if you use relatively high-quality tea leaves that cost over 1,000 yen for 100g, you can enjoy the finest iced tea with only 4g to 8g of tea leaves used in one bottle, for about 40 to 80 yen per cup.
Tea is made with the thoughts of each of the many different makers, and comes in a variety of delicious flavors, making it a truly profound drink.

I randomly ordered and examined stainless steel bottles from various companies, and found that most of them are thick enough to fit into drink holders, have roughly the same external dimensions, and most have volumes of around 350ml or 500ml. I also found that there are many wide-mouthed bottles, known as "big mouths," that are designed to be easy to wash, and that the inside diameters of these bottles are roughly the same across all companies.

Therefore, we decided to make a capsule-shaped tea strainer that was as thick as possible so that it would fit exactly inside the 350ml Big Mouth bottles sold by various companies.

I immediately bought a 3D printer and started working on making prototypes.

We make numerous prototypes in various thicknesses, lengths, and shapes to find the optimal shape.

As I tried various things, I realized that it was easy to make authentic iced sencha tea.

It can also brew oolong tea, black tea, flower tea, and fresh herbs, expanding the range of tea enjoyment.

When the ice and tea leaves in the capsule are stirred, the tea leaves adhere to the surface of the ice. As the ice slowly melts, the tea leaves gradually absorb the moisture from the ice and are extracted, allowing only the finest ingredients to be extracted.
Furthermore, the extraction is done in a sealed bottle, ensuring no flavor escapes.
The photo above shows tea leaves that have been brewed for over 10 hours. The tea leaves are brewed while still attached to the ice, and are not left submerged in the water, but suspended in mid-air, resulting in the ultimate tea with minimal impurities.

For example, I think it could be used like this:
Before heading out in the morning, put tea leaves and ice into a capsule, set it in a bottle, and a few hours later, you will have a delicious, exquisite ice-brewed sencha. Instead of gulping it down, you can sip every drop of the tea that is extracted from the melting ice, like pure water, and quench your thirst while savoring the rich flavor for a long time.

Furthermore, even after you've finished drinking it, the tea leaves have barely opened up, so you can pour in cold water, such as commercially available mineral water, and enjoy multiple brews , allowing you to spend your day enjoying good tea anytime, anywhere.
The higher the quality of the tea leaves, the better they can be brewed, so you can even add ice and enjoy it the next day.
I realized that being able to carry my favorite special tea leaves with me wherever I go and whenever I want, and enjoying their fine flavor every day, can make me feel so happy.
